All pupils are encouraged to plan a programme of work experience for the period immediately following GCSE exams and for holiday periods in the sixth form. Work experience is seen as an important part of preparation for career choices but as school holidays are quite long it is thought that there should not be the need for interruptions to teaching time. Pupils discuss work experience at their individual careers interviews and are encouraged to find their own placements as this in itself is a useful skill to learn. Mr McColgan will help to find suitable places if required.
