USA - History Trip
A party of around 40 members of staff and students from year 10 up to upper sixth level took part in the trip which was organised by Colin Sweatman and Niall Rothnie of the History Department and had links to the school curriculum in the subject. Other well-known USA landmarks visited by the students included the White House and the Lincoln Memorial in Washington. St Mary’s spokesman, Trevor Lane, commented: “This was another very successful long-haul school trip which followed on from a visit to China a couple of years back which proved equally popular with students. As a party of our talented young musicians also toured Austria recently it’s been a busy summer for the school in terms of foreign travel,” added Dr Lane.
