Triathlon for Augustinian Sisters
The nuns, based in Park House, Waterloo have worked tirelessly for over 35 years raising money for the most needy in Shuwa. The sisters have built a Clinic and Maternity Department, as well as 3 wells, for the community. There are 23 sisters based in Shuwa who treat over 20, 000 children plus adults per year and the need for medicines and other medical aids is great and constant. Sister Yvonne, based at Park House, together with retired teacher Mrs Marjorie Morley, continue to fundraise and are hoping to be able to fund the building of a secondary school to enable children to receive an education and so improve their own lives and the lives of all in the community.
Two boys from St Mary's College, pictured, have also decided to raise sponsorship money for the Sisters' work when they take part in the Triathlon too.
Mr Collins has commented that he is' delighted to be taking part in the Triathlon yet again and to be raising money for such a wonderful cause. It's wonderful that the St Mary's College Community can support the Sisters' work in Shuwa'.
