Parents' Association Ladies Night Raises £1,300!
St Mary's College Parents' Association held a very successful ladies night dinner dance recently. Around 80 women attended the event at West Lancs Golf Club, enjoying a three-course meal and entertainment from popular local singer Sally-Anne.
The sole male guest at the dinner was St Mary's Head of Drama, Laurence Doherty, who acted as MC for the event. Thanks to ticket sales, an auction and a raffle the ladies night is expected to have raised around £1,300 for college funds.
Parents' Association Chair, Janet Bingham, commented: "Because of the hard work of all the members of our committee, ladies night proved to be a big success - the food was good, the singer was very entertaining and guests were still dancing the night away at 1am. It was particularly pleasing to see a number of new faces at the event - mums of children who started at the school in September. The positive feedback I have received since the dance indicates that we achieved our twin objectives - to provide guests with a great night out and to raise a healthy amount for college funds into the bargain," added Janet.
