Musical Magic at St. Mary's Christmas Celebration
St Mary's College celebrated Christmas with its traditional carol concert this week. Pupils and their families gathered for the annual event at SS Peter and Paul Church on Liverpool Road. The atmospheric concert in the 100-year-old building included a selection of readings, carols and musical performances co-ordinated by the College's Director of Music, Mr Emery. The musical pieces included seasonal selections from the St Mary's orchestra and chamber choir as well as solo performances from pupils. The traditional evening finished in a traditional way with the serving of mulled wine and mince pies back at the college.
The Principal, Mr Kennedy, commented: "The carol concert is one of the highlights of the school calendar and this year's event was once again a really enjoyable way to start the Christmas season. I would like to pay tribute to all the staff and students whose hard work and musical skills helped to make the evening so special."
