German Exchange
International links continue to flourish at St Mary's College in
The college’s German department has organised another exchange scheme with its partner school in Niederviehbach near
St Mary’s pupils recently welcomed six students from the Realschule Niederviehbach, a Catholic middle school, accompanied by their teacher, Frau Maria Dieckmann.
During their week-long stay the German pupils were able to brush up their language skills and experience life in an English school living with an English family.
They also enjoyed a full programme of visits including trips to Liverpool,
The return leg of the exchange will take place later this month (July) when the St Mary’s pupils will spend a week with their German colleagues in Niederviehbach.
St Mary’s Principal, Mike Kennedy, commented: “International links are an important part of life at St Mary’s thanks to exchange schemes like this one, sport and music tours and our short and long-haul school trips.
“As well as being hugely enjoyable, these activities have real benefits in terms of subjects such as geography, history and languages and also help to broaden the horizons of our pupils.”
