Patron's Day MassSt. Mary’s College in Crosby paid tribute to its patron saint at a special church service in the town this week. The college held its annual Patron’s Day Mass at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Liverpool Road to mark the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. This Feast Day celebrates the unique state of grace of Mary, mother of Jesus, who was born free of original sin. The mass was conducted by Father Brendan Rice, an old friend of the school, and was attended by the whole St. Mary’s College community. Principal, Mike Kennedy, commented: "This Feast Day is a very important date in our school calendar and, of course, for the Roman Catholic Church as a whole. “It is an ideal opportunity for staff and pupils to worship together, highlighting the strong Christian values which are fundamental to life at the school.”
