Artwork in the Spotlight
Families and friends of the budding artists at St. Mary’s College were invited to view paintings that the students have submitted as part of their course work for the exams. The library of the Everest Road school was transformed into a gallery for the exhibition which included a remarkable variety of work. St. Mary’s has a thriving art department and staff say the standard of work this year was excellent. They now have high hopes that this will be reflected in the exam results later in the summer.
St. Mary’s Principal, Mike Kennedy, commented: “The exhibition proved to be a great success and it was clear that families really appreciated the opportunity to come and look at work which deserved a wider audience than the exam markers!
“The range and quality of the pieces on view was really stunning and we are all very proud that students here at St. Mary’s are producing work of such a high calibre.”
