Netball Success - Sefton Champions!
The Year 11 netball team are celebrating after being crowned as champions of Sefton. The players beat old rivals Merchant Taylors' Girls by a narrow 3-2 margin in a thrilling final, showing great spirit having lost to the same team in the earlier group stage of the competition.
St Mary's had reached the final by beating Holy Family High School in Thornton 5-4 in another very exciting last four game. Earlier in the event they had seen off the challenge of two Maghull schools - Maricourt High and Deyes High. The latest success means that this team - skippered by Charlotte Walsh - had finished as Sefton champions in three out of their five years at the school, having previously won their year 7 and year 8 events.
Head of Girls PE and Games, Miss Foster, commented: "I would like to congratulate the players on their success. This squad has been consistently successful and a great credit to the school."
