MCC recognize St. Mary's Cricket
It was announced last Friday at their AGM that the MCC wish to play the School 1st XI next year and on an annual basis in recognition of the standard of cricket now played at the College.
With county semi-finalists at both under 14 and under 17 level as well as a host of pupils involved in representative cricket, the MCC who are the founders of cricket wish to recognize this by playing the school in a yearly fixture in the summer half-term. Next season the fixture will take place at Northern Cricket Club on Tuesday 1st June 2010 to the delight of all involved at the College in what is the highest accolade for school cricket.
As an added bonus, the MCC will be captained by Phil Cooper who is a former pupil of the school and current club captain of Northern Cricket Club who play in the Liverpool & District Cricket Competition.
