Constable Ian Jones of the Merseyside Police Dog Team brought several of his ‘canine cops’ to the school to demonstrate how they support various aspects of police work.
The visitors ranged from Shadow, who is now on the point of retirement, to Scar, a puppy who has just started his training.
The dogs demonstrated many of their useful crimefighting skills including tracking, sniffing out contraband articles and chasing suspects.
Senior RAF Cadet Max Fielden, who arranged the visit, commented: “I would like to thank Constable Jones for a very interesting demonstration.
“Everyone was very impressed with the training the dogs have received and the skills they possess.”
