GCSE OCR COURSE SKILLS FOR THE FUTURE

The OCR Level 2 Nationals in ICT have been developed to prepare students for work in the ICT sector. The second part of the course focuses on cutting edge ICT skills such as web design, video editing and animation providing students with the very latest skills for business.

Course content

Unit 1 - ICT skills for business develops students skills in a range of computing applications (Word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email, using the Internet, desk top publishing, graphics, PowerPoint, using the computer and managing files). Following unit 1 students will develop skills in one of the following areas:

Web design, Animation and sound, and Video Editing

Key benefits for students are the flexibility of delivery and the 100% internal assessment. There is a strong practical element which ensures that learners develop skills relevant to the world of work. At the end of Year 11 successful students will achieve the equivalent of a GCSE in ICT A-C.
