International links continue to grow at St. Mary's College. The German department has organised another exchange with a new partner school in Niederviehbach near Munich in Bavaria. Bavaria in Southern Germany is famous for its fairy-tale castles and picturesque scenery and Munich is one of its most beautiful cities.

During May St. Mary's College welcomed 11 pupils from the Realschule Niederviehbach, a Catholic Middle School, accompanied by their teacher, Frau Maria Dieckmann. The German pupils were staying with their English partners for a week in order to experience life in an English school and with an English family. They also enjoyed a full programme of visits to Liverpool, Chester and Alton Towers. The English students will go to Germany in September 2009 to stay for a week with their German partners.
