GIRLS' PE & GAMES
At present the college has three members of Girls' PE and Games staff:

PE & Games Curriculum
All pupils at Years 7-9 have a double PE lesson in which they are taught as a form. In these lessons, the pupils will study a variety of activities such as Badminton, Dance, Volleyball, Netball, Fitness, Tennis and Athletics.
Pupils in Years 7-11 have a triple games lesson (except Year 10 who have double) in which they are taught as a whole year group split into groups. In these games sessions, pupils are taught Netball, Hockey, Rounders, Basketball, Football and Athletics. Students in Year 11 and Sixth Form have the option of particpating in the Level 1 Sports Leadership course.

Extra-Curricular Activities
Details of forthcoming practices and fixtures are posted on the school website and the Girls' PE Noticeboard (located by the Library) and students are encouraged to check these details daily. Sporting extra-curricular activities flourish at St. Mary's with a great deal of time being spent by both staff and pupils to enhance our reputation both locally and nationally.
The opportunities available to girls are: Netball, Hockey, Cross Country, Badminton, Dance, Swimming, Rounders, Table Tennis, Tennis and Athletics.

Basketball/Dance/Fitness: Polo Shirt, Skirt, Briefs, White Socks, White Trainers Football:Hockey Shirt, Blue Shorts, Hockey Socks, Shin Pads, Boots
The School sweatshirt is highly recommended for the early winter months
The School tracksuit is recommended for the winter months and is compulsory for pupils who are in the girls extra-curricular teams. |
