Combined Cadet Force
The CCF is a voluntary youth organisation sponsored by HM forces. The St. Mary's unit has two sections and parades after school on Mondays: Contingent Commander: Colonel N. C. Rothnie 2 i/c Flight Lieutenant P. McColgan SSI Alison Herriott Army Section: Affiliated to The Parachute Regiment o/c Captain E. Overend Lieutenant M Abbott 2nd Lieutenant A. Howard-Murphy 2nd Lieutenant S.A.Herriott R.A.F. Section: Affiliated R.A.F. Valley o/c Flight Lieutenant P. McColgan Flying Officer R. Cahill Flying Officer H. Scott Pupils may join on entering the Third Year. Whilst each section has its own programme of service training, most of the activities throughout the year are done as a joint enterprise with all cadets welcome to take part. The main emphasis is on developing qualities of leadership, team building and discipline. The following opportunities are available within the CCF:

- 17th December Bag Packing Tesco's Formby in aid of Army Benevolent Fund
- 11th February 2012 Recruits day, Altcar Training Camp
- 12th February 2012 Map and Compass exercise
- 25-26th February 2012 MOI Course. Altcar Training Camp
- 25-26th february 2012 Weekend exercise for senior cadets
- 10-15th April 2012 Adventure Training. Capel Curig, Wales
- 16-17th June 2012 Bega Banga Competition, Cumbria
- 7-14th July 2012 Annual Camp for both RAF and Army Sections
- February 2013 Adventure Training Rothiemurchus, Scotland
