Engineering Day at Liverpool University
Dr Matthew Murphy of the University of Liverpool is organising a special visit to the Engineering Department for students of St Mary's College on Thursday 8th July.
The day will begin with a tour, conducted by student ambassadors, of the new Faculty Building and other parts of the university including the Students' Union and sports facilities.
After lunch, there will be a meeting with members of the teaching staff who will offer you very useful advice on completing UCAS forms, in particular the writing of Personal Statements when applying for Engineering courses.
This will be followed by a practical session organised by Dr Murphy.
This is a very valuable opportunity for anyone considering Engineering, which is a very varied and rewarding career.
It has been agreed that anyone who attends this session and who applies for a course at Liverpool will be considered for a place without having to attend an interview.
We hope that a large number of our pupils will take up this offer. We have already contacted those who have expressed an interest in Engineering, but of any other student from Year 10 and above wishes to attend, please contact Mr McColgan, Mrs Thomas or Mr Magill as soon as possible.
Our thanks go in particular to Mrs Geraldine Mackay, who has helped to put this arrangement in place.
