The start of the summer saw the school play its inaugural fixture against the MCC. The MCC batted first, scoring 208 for 7 and the school were eventually bowled out for 168. The pick of the bowlers was Gavin Griffiths, 4 for 21 and the main batsmen were Owen Griffiths who scored 68 and Joe Campbell who scored 42 in a thrilling day for all involved. Gavin has since been selected for England Under 19s for the one day series against South Africa.
