3 out of 4 against Rossall
St. Mary's won three of the four fixtures against Rossall School on Saturday in another fine showing by the boys in Maroon & Gold.
The 1st XV won 37-10 despite going down 7-0 in the early encounters. Captained for the first time by Danny Frost, the St. Mary's men earnt a hard fought victory without ever hitting the heights of the previous week.
The 2nd XV were outstanding and won 57-0 against a much bigger Rossall team. Joe Reade marshalled his troops to a convincing win. The highlight of the game was the first saturday appearance for the school by Daniel Cousins. It has taken Williams, Deventer and Armstrong six years to get him out of bed on a saturday morning and he repaid their faith with a fantastic try.
The under 15s went down 26-22 at Rossall. Missing seven through injury/illness/CCF this was always going to test us but the men who came in such as Rob Howat did us proud and we were close to sneaking a win. Reese Hogarth was outstanding.
The under 13s had a fabulous game eventually winning 14-0. Rhys Courtney was outstanding and tries from Tom Cannon and Conor Dever both converted by Dever saw the boys return home victors.
